Bees Pleez

Updated: Oct 17, 2018

Spring is here and so are the honey bees! This incredibly efficient insect can carry a load of nectar or pollen close to her own weight. When the nectar sacs are full she returns to the hive and it is then passed mouth to mouth from bee to bee. This changes the nectar into honey by reducing the moisture content.

A bee only lives 6-7 weeks and on average she will only produce a twelfth of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime. Next time you indulge with a teaspoon of honey on your toast, appreciate all the hard work these amazing little creatures have done for you!
